The GrowNYC Youth Workforce Development summer internship for teens between the ages of 16 – 19 years old. Participants cycle through GrowNYC’s programs, gaining them hands-on work experience in green careers in New York City.

Hands on Farm Education Visit the GrowNYC Teaching Garden on Governors Island
Our one-acre urban garden on Governors Island excites and educates visitors in all aspects of urban farming. We host schools, educators, and community groups during the week and the public on the weekends May-October.

At the Dag Hammarskjöld Greenmarket, I really enjoyed actually doing the cooking demo. We made a summer squash and zucchini ribbon salad, which turned out really well.
