Our Work Garden Builds & Restorations

Over 180+ gardens built since 1978

Access to green spaces in New York City is crucial for well-being. They improve food security, manage stormwater, reduce urban temperatures, and connect New Yorkers to each other.

GrowNYC Green Space is dedicated to providing equitable access to these vital spaces for New Yorkers. We build and restore community gardens, and implement green infrastructure projects, including rainwater harvesting systems, to benefit communities across the city.

Community Garden Assistance Request Form

Through our Community Garden Assistance Request Form below, garden groups can apply to have GrowNYC build a new garden or renovate an existing garden. GrowNYC will engage selected groups in a participatory design process and provide labor and materials for your planting and garden infrastructure projects.

We accept submissions on a rolling basis. Due to the high volume of requests, we will reply as we are able and if submitted projects are a good fit for our program.
