Frequently asked questions

All FAQs

  • We love hearing what customers want! Product availability depends on:

    • What our regional farmers are currently harvesting
    • Each Farmstand’s ordering capacity
    • Customer demand at that location

    To request specific products:

    • Reply to our newsletter
    • Email farmstand@grownyc.org
    • Speak with staff at your Farmstand
  • FMNP checks can be used at all GrowNYC Greenmarket and Farmtand locations. Look for farmers displaying the FMNP authorization sign at their stand. All farmers who sell fresh fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, and herbs at Greenmarket are required to accept FMNP checks.

  • Under Greenmarket Rules, all producers who sell fresh fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, and herbs must be authorized to accept FMNP coupons through the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (AGM) before June 1st. For Returning Farmers: If you received FMNP approval with a three-year agreement in 2024 or 2025 and remain in good standing with AGM, you do NOT need to submit a new application for 2026. In March, you’ll receive a reauthorization package from NY Agriculture & Markets with updated rules and signs for 2026. For New Farmers: You must submit a new FMNP application to AGM. Contact fai@grownyc.org for application instructions and deadlines.

  • GrowNYC only permits the sale of regional agricultural products within our Greenmarket locations. The non-food vendors you see near some Greenmarket locations are not actually within our market footprint and are outside of our jurisdiction. We are not able to advise on the permitting process to sell outside of our market footprint.

  • We appreciate your interest in GrowNYC. To be considered for this or any other role, please apply online accordingly. You may access our current openings here.
