Our Work Connecting New Yorkers to Food
We partner with schools, older adults centers and community organizations to explore the story of food, how it’s grown and how it nourishes us. Together, we learn about food origins, its cultural roots, cultivation methods, nutritional value, delicious and easy ways to prepare it.
Our Work Cultivating thriving school and community gardens
We provide educators and New Yorkers with the curricula, workshops, and resources they need to sustain flourishing garden spaces.

Connect Your Students to Fresh and Local Food
Seed to Plate, our nutrition education curriculum for third to sixth graders. The curriculum tells the story of local food and why it’s important for our bodies, the environment, and our community, inspiring nutritious food choices and environmental leaders.
Seed to Plate is interdisciplinary and standards-aligned, suitable for social studies, ELA, health, or science. Students experience local food through hands-on preparation and tastings, Greenmarket tours, and farm visits.
Seed to Plate was designed in collaboration with Laurie M. Tisch Center for Food, Education & Policy at Teachers College Columbia University and is supported by the Amazin’ Mets Foundation.
