Find a Garden
GrowNYC supports community-managed green spaces by building new gardens across the city, including NYC Parks GreenThumb gardens, public housing developments, churches, daycares, and senior centers. Additionally, we maintain a one-acre Teaching Garden on Governors Island, which is open to the public on spring and summer weekends.

Farm & Garden Education Visit GrowNYC’s Teaching Garden on Governor’s Island
Our one-acre GrowNYC Teaching Garden offers field trips to NYC schools on weekdays and opens its doors to the public on weekends May – October. Each year we host more than 5,000 children and adults, giving them the opportunity to plant, water, harvest, and cook the garden’s wide array of fruits and vegetables.

Annual Plant Sale Stock up your garden with locally-grown seedlings and plants
Since 1986, GrowNYC has hosted an annual Spring Plant Sale to provide community groups with perennial and annual plants, herbs, and vegetables from regional farmers at wholesale prices.
